It's ten to mignight. I've just come home from the show at IIT Saarang and I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes and I don't know what I'm supposed to be feeling. Anger? Rage? Sadness? Mostly Shame..
I'd been looking forward to this night for so long. I'd marked it on the calendar and counted the days till Rock Night at IIT. It's the one time in the year when I can shut down my computer, let my hair down, turn off the phone, leave work and family and every other obligation behind and just... let the music wash over me. And tonight it would be Led Zepp. Just pure unadulterated Led Zepp out in the open air under the night sky.
I waited and waited with bated breath and boy, was it worth it. You guys know to deliver and how! It was great. I loved it. We love you. And we're sorry. We're sorry and we're ashamed and we're sorry and.. We're not like that at all!
I'M sorry. I feel personally responsible.. as a Led Zepp fan, as a concert goer, as a decent human being, I want to say *I'm* sorry and we love you and all I can feel right now is shame. Because If it WAS the 'moral' police that pulled the plug and cut you guys off in the middle of 'Stairway to Heaven', f@#k them cause you know what. It doesn't matter. Tonight was one of the best moments of my life.. and thats something you cant jus pull the plug on.
You guys rock.
-Lavanya (Led Zepp fan @ Concert, IIT, Saarang)

What happened today in iit was awful.but as hard as it is to say this, the truth is that Chennai is run by old farts refusing to accept our way of life.i was never a big fan of cover bands but you guys got me hooked.i enjoyed every moment watching and hearing your performance.you guys as a four peice band honestly.............filled the stage out the way that only the best would.
what happened today is NOT a reflection of who we are....its a window into the awful state of affairs in this stupid city that we live in. you guys deserve better and you guys.........honest to goodness know what it is to truly rock.
all said and done you guys rocked and id vouch for you anyday _________________ he who sneezes without a handkerchief takes matter into own hands

My personal apology for the elecricty plug being pulled out during stairway to heaven, for whatever reasons. You guys were amazing. Darryl, you are god. I just wish they had allowed you to complete the concert. anyways, thanks again for what was a brilliant show with or without stairway to heaven. Hope you enjoyed India.

What occurred at IIT Madras Saarang 2006 was terrible and should not happen to any artist ever.... As a music lover and an IITian, I wish to say sorry.... But what this incident did not take away is the enthralling performance you guys put up........you guys simply kicked some mighty a**...
First of all, we are all sorry for what happened at Saarang. Please don't take it to heart. All that we can say is you guys rocked. We enjoyed it all. We are very proud having had a Led Zeppelin tribute. I don't think any Led Zep tribute has ever happened in India previously. We are proud for that and we will remember you forever.... "Led Zepplica, the band which played for us at Saarang 2006." We love you guys....
F*@k F*@k F*@k..... Zeppelin's music is one of the few things that make me wish i was older, say by 30 years...... jus so i could see a live concert.... u guys were AWESOME....u gave me the next best thing..... I can't believe they pulled the plug right in the middle of stairway to heaven..... A**h@\*s.... i'd like to apologize on behalf od the entire insti(read IITM)....... btw Your rendition of "livin lovin maid" absolutely rocked....
The guys and I had such a great experience performing at Sarrang and enjoying the hospitality. It was a let down not being able to end the show properly though. Parikrama started late and pushed our start time so we were unable to finish the set even after cutting a few songs. It was unfortunate that no one communicated this would happen to the core team to let us know to finish up earlier. Still, it was a great evening and enjoyed the response of the thousands of appreciative fans out there. Bless you all and we may see you sooner than you think. Keep in touch. _________________ Lenny Mann
First let me say this.....Your Saarang festival kicked some major ass and I was extremely honored to be a part of it in 2006. Its not hard to describe the love and excitement we all shared during our stay and performance. I woke this morning in my own lair and thought "Was all that a dream or did we just make the most amazing journey in our career ?". These pictures (@ledzepplica .com) confirm my experience was not a dream ....It was beyond a dream and of the wildest, I might add. Regardless of mishap and the lack of common sense in relation to stage organization on a professional level, the Boys(you know who you are) in ITT Madras made one spectacular event fly high into the heavens with a return reponse of a wall of raining fire. I had a feeling that may happen. But I assure you it only added to my fire and I hold it dearly in my archive of my on going Spinal Tap Moments. Who knew I would be able to pull out my Michael Jackson impersonation at Saarang!! I luckily escaped that fire curtain without much injury and I can actually laugh about it. It could have been much worse. I fear no fireworks... (Im born on the 4th of july!)-which is American Independence Day)and as a kid Ive had many bouts of close calls and injury due to these kind of mishaps. I did try to finish the song but It got a little too hot in my seat . Its not like me to stop a tune before finishing but I think you all understand im not fire proof. ( I had to Ramble Off !AMEN. My only dissapiontment was the fact we did not get to properly finish some of the most important songs like Stairway and Kashmir. Although there is.... ,on your campus, a video of our acoustic versions in their entirety and a few other songs that helped us with your closure of our journey to Madras. I hope you all get to see it. BTW...disregard my gluttonous act of pounding straight whiskey from the bottle....I'm a bit embarrased, but I assure you all that that is not a habit. It was only film antics related to essence of true rock n roll. Remember Im an actor and a musician. Dont forget that guys and gals we LOVE YOU. PEACE OUT. Darryl Johnson from LedZepplica
Post subject: here's the video for STH and Kashmir
Hey, A friend of mine at IIT uploaded the 'couch' version of Stairway to Heaven and Kashmir that you guys did after the show. Here's the link, you need to log in in order to access it. Be patient if it doesn't open on your first try, system quirks I guess.
This goes to all the members of Led Zepplica , a huge bear hug to all you guys. Thanks for doing the workshop which Abhinav and I were proud to coordinate , thanks for the out-of-this-world performance .Thanks for all the warmth and absolute affection . We'll miss you guys .
Stan , we're absolutely glad we got to meet someone as talented , yet oh so humble and down-to earth as you .
Darryl , you rock dude !! Nevermind about the whiskey incident , v know how you felt after what had happened . You just rock on in the spirit of John Bonham , dude !!
Joe , funny , bubbly , jovial Joe , we loved talking to you , we loved the way you sing . Believe me , we loved every one of your on-stage Robert Plant antics . Ramble on , el Joe !!
And finally Lenny , the Jimmy Page incarnate , Abhinav and I shall never ever forget you . The expression on your face when the power went off just when you were about to play the solo of Stairway shall forever remain etched in my heart and mind . Though we grieve for what occurred , we've found solace in the form of the unplugged performance at the guest house . We would definitely love to have you back for an encore , if not in IIT , anywhere else in India .
You guys have truly left an indelible mark upon all of us . And I will definitely cherish the autographed t-shirt and all other fond memories of you guys , LED ZEPPLICA .
