SPEED KING is a tribute band to DEEP PURPLE
SPEED KING takes flight in October 2008. It is the story of the gathering of 5 musicians from Lyon (France) who are all DEEP PURPLE fans.
The main aim is to pay a tribute to this mythical band of the seventies, and they also try to reproduce the energy and musicality of the famous band.
The 5 musicians try to keep up with DEEP PURPLE’s spirit but they do feel free to bring their own touch and leave room to improvisation.
The repertoire of the concert is composed of the greatest classics of the band, from 1970 to 1985 (markII et markIII), but it is also made of some less famous songs.

Le groupe SPEED KING prend son envol en octobre 2008. C'est la réunion de cinq musiciens lyonnais, fans du groupe DEEP PURPLE.
Il s'agit avant tout de rendre hommage à ce groupe mythique des 70's et de tenter d'en restituer en concert toute l'énergie et la musicalité.
Dans le même esprit que leurs illustres ainés, les cinq membres de SPEED KING se laissent la liberté d'apporter leur touche personnelle et laissent une place à l’improvisation tout en respectant bien sûr les compositions originales.
Le répertoire du concert est constitué des grands classiques du groupe des années 1970 à 1985 (markII et markIII), mais aussi de titres un peu moins connus de cette époque très créative...
